Day 2 of 100: Sunshiny Days Should Not be Wasted

Much as we may wish to make a new beginning,
some part of us resists doing so as though we were making the first step toward disaster.”

Today is a rest day.

But I will probably cheat.

“Cheat” isn’t the best description. Perhaps “splurge” would be better.

Whatever I choose to call it, I hope to go for a walk this afternoon. The weather, which has been exceptionally awful this winter so far, is unseasonably gorgeous today. As I write this, it’s in the mid-40s. However, the predicted high is 74 degrees.

Ain’t nobody got time to stay inside when it’s 74 degrees in February! I am going for a walk. It may only be for 15-20 minutes, but I’m going to take advantage of this beautiful weather while it lasts.

Because I know it won’t.

Unfortunately, I must earn my walk… and the meantime is what will get the best of me.

As soon as I finish this post (and fold some laundry), I must devote the rest of my time to a 501c3 application. Not my favorite way to spend a day.

Or a week. Or a month.

But it must be done, so it’s time to buckle down. I only have a brief break in my schedule before my other commitments consume most of my time, so this is it.

And then there’s that on-line class I signed up for a year ago. I haven’t finished it yet. And it expires in three days.

I must attempt to finish that class and take the final exam. When I paid for the class, it was something I had wanted to do for several years. A certification/credential that I really wanted.

Now… it’s merely a dream that I had. Something I don’t have time for because of other obligations. Funny thing is I thought it fit in perfectly with those other obligations.

But that was MY dream. My vision.

And nobody dreams about applying for 501c3 tax-exempt status… but that’s on my to-do list today.

It’s time to begin…. It’s time to get my head out of the clouds and enjoy this sunshiny day!
