Friday Five: 5 Goals for March
As I posted yesterday, I didn’t accomplish everything I hoped during February. I’m a little discouraged, but at least I got a few things done.
I felt much more focused after I decided to give up fear for Lent. As things turned out, that was a really good decision on my part. I’ll explain why in tomorrow’s post.
I also felt more focused when I got at least 7 hours of sleep and had a couple of hours of quiet time first thing in the morning.
One of the books I read during February was Andy Traub’s Early to Rise. It’s a short little book of daily readings to help you create the habit of getting out of bed early. My normal wake-up time is 5:00 a.m. I didn’t change that during February, but I kept better focus on going to bed early and getting out of bed than I would have if I hadn’t been reading that book. I’m planning to re-read it during March and try waking up at 4:30. Time will tell… Perhaps that extra 30 minutes will help me stay on task with my decluttering goal!
My 5 Goals for March
- I will send in the Healthy Congregations Ministry grant proposals before March 15.
- I will sit for my Nutrition Coach Certification exam this month.
- I will complete 12 bodyweight/HIIT workouts and 4 weight-training (with dumbbells or barbell) sessions this month.
- I will complete at least 8 running/walking sessions this month.
- I will spend 15 minutes each day on my decluttering project.
These goals are obviously almost identical to last month’s goals. I still have two fitness goals on the list because I want to stay on track. (I plan to run a 5K in May, and I haven’t run AT ALL for several months.)
I don’t have a reading goal, because I need to spend any and all available reading energy on my nutrition certification.
The Number One goal is finishing the grant proposals. That isn’t an option. (Have I mentioned I hate deadlines?)
For now… It’s back to my medical journal articles.
What are YOUR goals for March? Was February a productive month for you? Leave me a comment so we can make progress together!
