Early to Rise: Day 6 (It’s all about the attitude!)

“But I cry to you for help, O LORD; in the morning my prayer comes before you.” ~ Psalm 88:13

The topic of today’s daily reading in the Early to Rise book is our attitude. Very timely for me.

Yesterday I mentioned that waking up early isn’t as much of a challenge for me as going to bed early. If I don’t get to bed by 9:00 pm, I don’t feel rested enough when Fred wakes me up at 4:30… or earlier.

This morning I didn’t jump out of bed when Fred told me to jump. I didn’t even crawl. I laid there until almost 4:45. I didn’t feel nearly as rested as I have for the past couple of mornings when I went to bed before 9.

Last night I didn’t go to bed until 10:00.

Yes, I know that isn’t very late. Yes, I know it’s earlier than most people go to bed.

I’m not most people. MOST people aren’t trying to get out of bed at 4:00 or 4:30 and be productive.

As Andy suggests in today’s reading, I needed to adjust my attitude… so I did. I’m grateful for that extra hour or so with my husband.

And I will take a nap later…
